After the recent news of Fnatic's addition of a Call of Duty 4 squad, the mood in the community is ecstatic and with tonight's second round QCUP matches, it's only going to get better!
We see perhaps six of the top seven teams currently playing (with the seventh also playing tonight as well), facing off against one another on the same play day. With the safety net of a loser bracket offering little comfort as four of the teams are in close proximity in the bracket, and the winner of match 1 and 2 will play each other in the next match, the stakes couldn't be higher.
M1: Serious Gaming versus oXmoze
_maxi - "Success has been mutual in the past group stages with these two teams but I’m going to say that Serious are going to win it with the help of their two new recruits."
_evan - "Both teams are in top form, and although Serious may have more experience and the better lineup on paper, there is defiantly something about oXmoze. I think they will come good again and take this in a nail biter."
M2: Tek-9 Networks versus Team SPEED-LINK
_maxi - "Both teams were having surprisingly hard time against their opponents during Upper bracket round 1 which makes me think that both teams have now practiced as much they can for their upcoming match tonight. The top of the notch teams are going to have a tight battle on the narrow corridors of vacant but in the end I can see the German team still standing when the dust sets."
_evan - "Probably the hardest of the three to call. Both were giants in CoD2 but have struggled somewhat since the new version. I think SPEED-LINK's new recruits put them in good stead to be named the best in Germany, and the winner of this match."
M3: Fnatic versus Da imperial executors
_maxi - "By taking a look at the recent results, I’m expecting Fnatic to walk about of this one as a winner simply because they are in a better shape."
_evan - "Well what can you say. If DIE had to play anyone else, they would in almost all situations win without even getting out of second gear. In their Fnatic debut, I think the Swedes will win, but DIE are one of the only teams capable of upsetting them, so don't expect this to be a whitewash by any means."
These aren't the only matches being played tonight, and you can catch up with the rest of our coverage here.
