The first team is being removed in the running competition of the ClanBase NationsCup XI due to using silent run (also known as duck-movement, begrip-movement, russian ducks). Finland received their second red card for using the silent run in their match against Slovakia earlier this week and already received one for their match against Norway.
This is not the first time teams received a red card, together with Finland theres more red cards given out. The first one was for Estonia due to "m``" silent running multiple times which means the Czech Republic gets a forfeit win. Also Germany loses to Russia because of mooN using silent run in the 4th round of the 2nd half. So there is multiple teams with red cards which are Romania, Switzerland, Estonia, Sweden, Greece, Germany and the UK. These teams are not allowed to "accidentally" use the silent run otherwise they're being removed from this competition.
Statement from lurppis
"The way I see it is ClanBase is shooting itself in the foot, WCG already tried to ban silent-running and the results were catastrophic -> the rule was removed, they know it's going to cause a lot of problems and still try to enforce. Although I would say 99% of the players want to allow it as, lets face it, it's part of the game nowadays and it's allowed at EVERY other tournament," says Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen, Team Finland's captain.
"The worst part about this is all the players are playing CB NC 100% for FUN as they do NOT provide any prizes or LAN finals to play for, so not only are we spending our own time for nothing just so CB could get publicity and spectators something to watch. They still try to act like the world police who can fix anything... At least the cup won't be missed."
"Thankfully ESL listens to players and even has prizes & LAN finals for their nations cup so we're all really looking forward to participating in that!"
"We've tried talking to the captains few times before, telling how strict we intend to be"
This means Finland now has a total of two red cards and is being removed as well as all of their matches are canceled. According to the ClanBase, the admins tried to talk to the team captain but Finland kept using silent run. The ClanBase is one of the few competitions that does not allow using silent run. Even though most of the players are used to it now there is no global rule defining what silent run is and if it should be forbidden or not. ClanBase however says silent run is using multiple ducks to move without making steps but it is allowed to double-duck around corners."One duckjump is allowed, two or more without sound (step) between is considered silent run"
