The AWL Masters is a special event hosted by NicegameTV, inviting the ten players with the best records over the previous three seasons of Afreeca Warcraft III League to the event.
The two previous title holders were given a berth to the offline final in Yonsan, Seoul while the other eight contenders had to fight their way through the group stage.
The offline final started with the match between SocceR and Space, the latter eliminating the rusty Jae Ho "Moon" Jang in the group stage. SocceR left no chance for the Undead lad and advanced to the overall final with a score of 2-0.
On the other hand, the other semi-finals match took place between two SK teammates. Seo Woo "ReiGn" Kang surprisingly took the lead by winning the first game against Lyn who is particularly good in the Orc versus Undead matchup. However, ReiGn could not resist Lyn's aggressive play style as the latter joined Soccer in the final after a 2-1 comeback.
The key player of WICKED eSports won the last encounter between the two finalists at KODE5 Korea Finals. He continued his winning streak by producing a 3-1 against Lyn in the final. In spite of leveling the score in the second game, a series of mass Druids of the Talon from SocceR turned out to be too irresistible for the SK star player.
SocceR took home a prize of $6,000 while Lyn collected $3,000.
