The Belgian replaces Jyri 'kammYz' Högman who was mutually removed from the team earlier this week, stating that “me and 'OZWALD' don't fit in the same team”.
After being approached by Davy 'Davy' Sysmans before the initial announcement was publicised, 'Stevy' was told 'kammYz' had left and questioned whether he would be interested in joining the team. “I was interested from the beginning, but wanted to think about everything. I talked to 'Davy', 'sticky' and some of the other Belgian players. I also had a talk with my real life friends as well as my parents because I wanted to know if it was the right decision, they understood 'yazzy' and me.”
'yazzy' and 'Stevy' are brothers, who both live together and played on the same team(s). When asked what his parents thought about him separating from his brother in gaming terms, he replied “it was a chance to get higher and my parents understood my point of view and weren't angry”, he remarked about his brother “I respect and love him for everything he has done, and I'll repay him and make him proud, I will still help him if he ever needs help.”
Just as 'kammYz' was empathic about the effect of his departure from the team, 'Stevy' too was honest about his former team which disbanded as both the consequence of his departure, and a number of recent lineup changes. “I admit the timing is rather bad, with AEF [Antwerp eSports Festival] coming up but I will do everything for him [yazzy], so he can play”. The lure of TEK-9's “stability and experience” was too much and after two days he finally accepted.

Having already played and known the guys from Call of Duty 2 [he's also on the Belgian national team alongside 'Davy' for the iPOWER Games 2008 in July], he was frank about his prospects, “there wasn't much to adapt to because I fit in their gamestyle”. When asked what gamestyle TEK-9 has, he remarked “1 word – random”. Although coy about whether or not the team is better with or without 'kammYz', he conceded that “now we're going to get really active and it should be fixed”, confident that the pressure and reputation of the TEK9 name wouldn't overwhelm him, “yeah of course there is pressure, but I like playing under pressure because then I have to focus, and when I focus I can do the best I can”.
