After 3 weeks, SK Gaming were sole owners of the first place in EU LCS with a perfect 6-0 score. With Copenhagen Wolves and Giants as their enemies this weekend, there still wasn't much room for errors, as both teams wanted to be the one to upset the league's leader.
The Copenhagen Wolves showed their fans that they've still got it. With the new addition of Freeze, they managed to acquire a high tier player, who is driven by the thought, that he finally is able to play in the LCS again. Recently the Wolves had very solid matches, managing to take the 4th place in the EU ladder - will they be able to take down the 1st place?
Taming the Wolves
Quite early in the game, the Wolves showed us why we should never count them out. Airwaks took out Svenskeren in a sneaky 1v1 firstblood and Freeze was able to add a death to Forg1ven's KDA in a straight 2v2. As if this was not enough, the Wolves managed to grab the first dragon for themselves – something SK rarely allows.
Due to their lead, CW went for a confident bot gank that turned out disastrous. The whole SK team reacted beautifully and turned the gank around for an ace at 13 minutes. The player to look at in this game was Fox on LeBlanc: he got himself into a freezing snowball after getting a triple kill during that ace. He took this chance to step out of his teammates' shadows, and went to gather up explosive 10/0/3 stats. A good performance by both teams but SK once again came out on top.

A huge step towards greatness
Giants have been struggling for a while now. They started the split pretty well as a newcomer team, but were not able to keep it up. While the standings tell us different things, the Giants are a team you can not count out at all. Being in the lower rankings of the ladder, they should not be undererstimated, as they are quite ready for an upset.
Comparing the early game to the one from the day before, SK looked very solid. They were able to slowly but surely keep down their Spanish enemies, as they would do against so many teams before. If you had to describe SK's regular early game, this one would be a perfect fit.

While their early game was a very convincing one, in the mid game SK engaged in a very sloppy fight after they gave up a dragon in an uncharacteristic way. This is where the game got very exciting again. Giants started to punish SK for small mistakes, building up their chance for a comeback kill after kill.
Even though SK started losing their lead, they managed to overpower their opponents, starting with a tremendous ambush in the river. The well played pick turned out to be the game's turning point, as they eventually were able to take the last big step and take down Giants. This leaves SK with a 8-0 record so far.
SK Player of the week: Hampus 'Fox' Myhre

Hampus was never considered a bad player, however his teammates' stellar performances made it very hard for him to shine. This week, he finally managed to step out of his team's shadow with his insane LeBlanc game followed up by yet another solid game on Zed. We are very proud to see him going for confident plays.
We asked Fox how he felt about the matches:

"I enjoyed this week more because I was able to play more aggressive. I was happy with how the game against Wolves went and I think the team was too. Giants played pretty smartly against us and we were sloppy ourselves so we made the win harder for ourselves. We have a big week coming up and hopefully we can secure another 2-0."
