AKAWonder is in sunny California (once again after he was recently spotted there meeting up with our Clash Royale players) but this time he means business! The first of three 2019 Masters Tour tournaments is about to take place in Las Vegas between 14th and 17th June and our Spanish player will be among the hundreds of participants. Don't get scared by that number though - he's beaten similar odds plenty of times before and as the man himself says his only goal is to win.
We're very excited to finally get the chance to see AKAWonder compete in an offline tournament this year. What's more, he will be using the new Specialist format that Hearthstone introduced for competitive matches, which includes 1 primary deck and 2 secondary decks which can have up to 5 different cards from the main one. All three decks will be of the same class. The tournament's prize pool is $250,000.
Day 1 of the event will feature 7 rounds of Swiss. Players with 4 or more match wins will advance to day 2, which will feature 5 more Swiss rounds. The top 8 players will then advance into 2 dual tournament groups which will continue throughout day 3 until a winner is crowned. All matches will be best of three, besides the best of five final.
Schedule
Friday, 14th June from 18:00 CEST onwards - Swiss Rounds 1-7
Saturday, 15th June from 18:00 CEST onwards - Swiss Rounds 8-12 followed by initial Playoffs matches
Sunday, 16th June from 18:00 CEST onwards - Top 8 Playoffs
Make sure to tune in and support AKAWonder when his games are hopefully shown on stream! You can also win some card packs while watching!
