Another eventful League of Legends off-season is almost in the books and we're finally ready to talk about our complete roster for 2020. We're keeping Crownshot and Sacre in the bottom and top lane respectively, as well as our mid laner Jenax who stepped in late into the summer split and almost managed to turn around our season and make it to his first LEC playoffs. For the jungle and support roles we will be welcoming new faces - one veteran of the European competitive scene and one LEC rookie - Kim "Trick" Kang-yun and Dino "LIMIT" Tot.
Fans of European League of Legends will be familiar with Trick as he previously spent 2 years in the EU LCS with G2 Esports and won all 4 splits during that time. After that he went back to the LCK for a year before returning to Europe last split to play for Schalke 04. He brings a lot of experience to an otherwise very young team and will likely step up as one of the leading voices in and out of game.
On the other end of the spectrum we have LEC newcomer LIMIT who spent the last few months in Ad Hoc Gaming claiming second spot in the Premier Tour Winter Cup and the ESL Meisterschaft Winter Season. We're very excited to be bringing another young European talent to the LEC and can't wait for his debut on the big stage.
SK's League of Legends General Manager René Spanier shared his thought process around building the roster:
"After many talks in the offseason we are very happy that we put together a team with huge potential. We wanted to find the right balance between experience and talent to build a team around Jenax, Sacre and Crownshot which reaches playoffs and tries their hardest to surprise our fans. With Trick we add an experienced jungler who has a great track record and was pretty much the only name on our list once we got approached by other teams about a transfer of Selfmade. For the support position we were looking for someone who wants to dominate the lane the same way Crownshot wants to and after discussions with different players we convinced LIMIT, who fits that profile perfectly, to join SK as our starting support for LEC."
Of course, we should also talk about our coaching staff and the changes there. Petar "Unlimited" Georgiev who was our assistant coach during the Summer Split has been promoted to Head Coach and will be accompanying the team during the draft phase on stage. Taking the Assistant Coach role in his place will be Paul "Kanani" Khouani, with whom we already worked earlier this year in SK Prime. He has a brilliant mind for the game and a resume full of big accomplishments in the national leagues so we're thrilled to have him back in the SK Family.
Head Coach Unlimited had the following to say:
"We are a team full of rookies and untapped potential. There is a lot to learn but when the split starts we are going to challenge every team with aggression from level one until the end."
