Today, we are excited to announce that Deutsche Telekom has acquired a holding in SK Gaming, intensifying its involvement in eSports and gaming as the first telco provider to invest directly in an eSports organization.
This marks a particularly exciting milestone for us, one that we've been working towards since the start of our partnership in June 2018. Together with Deutsche Telekom, we returned to competitive League of Legends with our German-based team and applied to Riot Games' League of Legends European Championship. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a strong partner on our side, not least because of their high-quality networks and technological know-how, and couldn't be happier to have them join our ownership group alongside Daimler AG, 1. FC Köln and Managing Director Alexander T. Müller as they cement their commitment.

'Our networks, products and services provide the best possible environment for the eSports and gaming community. SK Gaming is the perfect partner with whom we can cooperate to shape the market into the future.'
'With Deutsche Telekom, we intend to further develop the eSports sector, and in some ways to redefine it,' says Alexander T. Müller, CEO of SK Gaming. 'In the course of our cooperation in the past, we’ve managed to move forward a lot at many different levels. We’re now looking forward to taking the next steps together.'
