It's no secret that our performance in both the LEC and Prime League during the Spring Split of this year was far from satisfactory. Even before the split was over we were already looking from all angles where the problems lied and how we could best tackle them.
Today we're happy to say that we've completed the first and very important step towards positive change for the Summer Split. We are welcoming a new General Manager for League of Legends, Joe "InnerFlame" Elouassi, who will from now on take care of recruitment and operations of both teams.
The older SK fans are familiar with Joe's name as we've already worked together in the past. He joined us in 2013 as the coach for the then first established SK Prime team and took them to a win in the EU Challenger Series and a chance for EU LCS promotion in 2014. He was then promoted to coach of our LCS team and with him at the helm, we had our best split, finishing first in the regular Spring Split of 2015.

After his time in SK, Joe went on to work with G2 qualifying them to the EU LCS, as well as Dignitas and Misfits.
Today, 5 years later Joe has a considerable amount of experience in coaching and management under his belt and we're very excited that he's agreed to come back into the SK Family, and help with shaping our teams into ones our fans can proudly cheer for.
"SK Gaming is an organisation that I have a deep emotional connection with. In 2013, SK Gaming gave me my first full time opportunity in esports and I'm ecstatic to make my return. I am looking forward to taking the team forwards and creating another legacy that SK Gaming has managed to do across so many different titles. Results have been far from ideal recently and my first priority is to turn the bad results around, this is a process that will take some time but I'm certain it will be fruitful. I have a clear vision that I'm implementing and I relish the challenges ahead. I'm extremely thankful for the opportunity and I intend to make the most of it", shared Joe Elouassi.
"During the Spring Split we didn't hit the mark with either of our League of Legends teams so a decision was made to change things up starting at the top. Joe is someone I have a lot of respect for and we worked together very successfully in the past, so he was the first person we thought of to take over the GM position and help us get back on track. We're very happy he agreed to return to SK and we're confident in his abilities to make our Summer Split a much more successful affair", said SK Gaming's CEO, Alexander T. Müller.
To all the fans, thank you for the support during the tough times in Spring and make sure to give a warm welcome back to Joe. You can find him on Twitter and Instagram. More updates regarding our plans for the Summer Split will be announced in the coming weeks. Until then and always, stay safe and healthy!
