"Today we are announcing a few roster changes coming into the 2021 LEC Summer Split. We would like to inform you that Kristian 'TynX' Hansen will no longer be a starting player of the team. Instead, Erik 'Treatz' Wessén will be role-swapping to Jungle, and our head coach, Jesse 'Jesiz' Le, will be starting as our Support for the duration of Summer Split.
SK will be supporting TynX in finding a new home if that is his choice and we are committed to making this transition as easy and smooth as possible for him.
To be honest, this was not a position we expected to be in. Making changes so close to the start of the split is far from ideal but these changes were deemed necessary to maintain the progression of our team. The decision came collectively from the team, and if every single member was not on board, especially Treatz, we wouldn't have followed through with it.
Initially, we looked at more traditional jungle replacements but due to the timing and contractual nature, we couldn't come to an agreement in time. We discussed the possibility of picking up a regional league level player as well, but ultimately decided against it to keep our team culture and the attitude to improvement that the current members all have. One of our main goals is to maintain that synergy, and with our previous roster, we had difficulties achieving the success we are aiming for. Overall, Treatz is an extremely intelligent player with previous experience as a Jungler and was already facilitating the majority of our engages last split. We believe he has all the tools needed to succeed in his new role.
For the support position, our former Head Coach Jesiz recommended that we pick up a player from the regional leagues, however the team requested that he steps in and plays instead. Given this change, our Assistant coach Thomas 'Tom' Diakun will be moving up to the Head Coach position for the duration of Summer Split.
We are aware of the risk involved with these changes. However, we were not satisfied with our placement last split and we want to be playing at the highest level possible. Every person in this team is extremely ambitious and we hope that we prove it to you this split. Thank you for the support so far, please continue to trust in us."
