SK Gaming, defeated WICKED eSports 4-1 a fortnight ago, was sitting at the summit together with We Are Go and former Meet Your Makers by then, but slipped to the seventh place after being hammered by their first back-to-back defeats in the league since last March, ten points adrift of the current front runner, albeit with a game in hand.
In contrast to his stunning run in solo tournaments, June 'Lyn' Park lost three out of four solo matches to Weiliang 'Fly' Lu, Manuel 'Grubby' Schenkhuizen and Xiang 'TH000' Huang in the past two rounds, but he is keen to prove he is back in business.
“I had slump lately,” he told SK-Gaming.com, “but I am fine now. I will win (my games in NGL, the game against Moon in Avalon Online Masters and the game against Go in WC3L).”
“I trained as much as I always do, but you never get full control of your form. Sometimes I win a lot of games in practice, but I still lose in official matches, while it is still possible that I win in official matches when I lose a lot in practice. I believe all gamers are the same.”
His team-mate Jin Wook 'Rohjinwook' Roh, in the meantime, might not impress achievement-wise when he lost all of his games to top-notch players from former Meet Your Makers and Mousesports despite very close, but Lyn believed Lucifer’s younger brother will one day excel.
“He is not playing very well so far, but I think he will impress everyone in the future. I will train him as much as I can.”
What is striving for the opposite ahead of them, however, is by no means easy to deal with, as We Are Go is one of the only two teams that remain undefeated alongside nGize. Albeit losing sponsorship from Fnatic in day 1, Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom and Chul Woo 'Shy' Park have disposed of heavyweights like Mousesports and World Elite in the process.
However difficult it may appear to be, the SK Gaming pair will be making every effort to sneak a win from their fellow Koreans. "It will be hard to beat them. I don't even think we will win down the road, but we will try whatever we can to win this game."
The match will kick off at 13:00 CET tomorrow (Saturday), and we will provide score and replay update in our match coverage.
