Jin Woo 'WinNers' Kim failed to turn up for the first time this season in today’s match against Zhuo 'TeD' Zeng of World Elite, but yet it could well be his last as the two penalty points he received today made his total tally exceed the maximum 12 points.
The Korean didn’t manage to schedule his matches on time in seven occasions, which led to the massive penalty points he received. According to Rule 4.3 and Rule 4.4, he will be barred from the rest of the season and the following season as well.
However, WinNers received four penalty points for late scheduling of his match against Daniel 'ixi' Spenst of Team ALTERNATE earlier this season, compared to average one or two penalty points other players received for the same reason. XlorD received four penalty points for late scheduling twice and is only one point away from the same punishment.
NGL officials have not included any determination as to how many penalty points are given under certain circumstances in their rule book other than Rule 4.2, which reads “Every league official is allowed to give penalty points if he feels it is necessary in the given situation.”
WinNers sat at the second place at the wrong end of the table with six wins out of 19 matches and was struggling to avoid relegation alongside bottom-place compatriot Hyeong Ju 'Check' Lee of nGize. Thanks to the removal, players like Hyo Sub 'FoCuS' Eom, Xuwen 'InFi' Wang and Pedro 'LucifroN' Moreno Durán who lost to the Night elf player earlier are now back in race for a place in the finals at the end of the regular season.
