Evil Geniuses have just lost their first match of the group stage versus team HellRaisers who keep surprising the scene with their latests results. Funnely enough, this first game will probably be the decider between the 1st and 2nd seed, this is presumably if EG and Hellraisers were to beat their next opponents, Lords of Heaven , u5 and NSD Gaming .
Evil Geniuses 12-18 HellRaisers ( tuscan - 3-12, 9-6 )
First half
The first half was thrilling to watch. Watching Hellraisers was like watching Speedy Gonzales on speed, they were all over the place jumping left/right, switching positions, getting ants in their feet and ending up pushing the map as Counter-Terrorist. For the first few rounds of the first half, Kirill 'ANGE1' Karasov and Ioan 'Edward' Sukhariev from HellRaisers decided to go fraghunting which payed off quite well. As for EG, it's like they were just pulled out of bed to play this map. In the usual American style, they played extremely slow, sometimes only just getting the bomb planted with the time running out. Perhaps Matt 'Warden' Dickens also put his headset on backwards as he makes a 180 turn to shoot a team mate instead of the Counter-Terrorist sitting right in front of him.
If you're only interested in the nice rounds to watch, fast forward to the 14th round. EG had planted in Bombsite A while three Hellraisers members waited on middle and CT spawn for Yegor 'markeloff' Markelov to make a glorious entrance through the squeeky door, killing two terrorists. Gis team mates then finished the job by killing the last guys still standing stunned.
Second half
EG, thankfully for them, too the pistol round, even with a good effort from Ivan 'Johnta' Shevcov as he gets a four-man. Onto the 4th round, gun round, Hellraisers managed to win their first round of the second half, even after a attempted ninja defuse from Danny 'fRoD' Montaner in a 1v3 situation. Hellraisers quickly realises that the second half will not be as easy at the first and drasticaly calm down their strategy on the 5th round. EG then managed to push the score up to 8-1 (a total of 11-13 still in Hellraisers favour). Hellraisers then stepped up their game and managed to win the second half thanks to some great nades.
