The first semi-final gave us
SK Gaming the winners of group B against
Frag eXecutors . First two maps were pretty straight forward but the third one went right down to the wire. Fx came back and won the last four rounds to book theselves a spot in the final.
de_train:
Frag eXecutors 16:10
SK Gaming (CT 11:4 T 5:6)
Frag Executors started on the stronger ct side of de_train and took pistols and the ecos of SK. The Poles looked on form especially TaZ pushing lower ramp or ladder at right times getting the important entry frags. SK managed to put four rounds on the board in the first half which meant they needed a strong 2nd half to get back into this one.
But it wasn't to be as Frag Executors took the pistol round which was devastating for SK's chances on the first map. SK started a mini-comeback with some good fragging from Dennis. It started looking dangerous for FX but they got the opening frags on the 10th round of the 2nd half and put themselves at map point. SK had to win every single round from here to force an overtime but Frag Executors denied them in the next round and took the first map of the series.
de_nuke:
Frag eXecutors 9:16
SK Gaming (de_nuke CT 7:8 T 2:8)
de_nuke is known for being a good map for both teams. SK started on the T side and won their first pistol round of the match, a start they really needed. They took the ecos of FX down with some trouble but managed to win the first gunround of the match which put FX on another eco. SK again tore apart FX in the 6th round before the Poles finally replied with three rounds of their own, winning some close situations and putting themselves back in the match. Teams started trading rounds and SK managed to get two more before the end of the half. In truth it should have been three when they had a 3on1 situation on the upper site but Neo had one of his moments and took them down with 13HP remaining. The half time ended with a one round difference but it still was a very good T half from SK. But FX is known for being on of the best if not the best T side on de_nuke in the world so everything was still open.
SK won their second pistol round of the map with some amazing shots from f0rest, who got four in the end. The Poles decided on a third round buy eventhough they didn't manage to plant before. It almost paid off as they were down on the lower site in a 3on1 situation. But it was time for some f0rest magic again as he took down all three trough the glass doors. FX had to eco again and SK quickly climbed up to a 6:0 score in the 2nd half 14:7 overall. Frag Executors put two rounds on the board, but when it started smelling like a comeback f0rest and face again went to work and shut down the attacks of Frag Executors two more times to tie the score 1-1.
de_dust2:
Frag eXecutors 16:14
SK Gaming (de_dust 2 T 9:6 CT 7:8)
Third map started similar to the first with a pistol round win for Frag Executors which resulted in them being 3-0 quickly. SK didn't manage to get on the board until the 7th round and they were five rounds behind by then already. And FX done what SK really couldn't afford at that stage, they won the next round resulting in a possible double eco from SK. SK ecoed only once though and forced a buy in the 10th round. It paid off and they put their second round on the board. SK started getting back into it and their defense suddenly looked impenetrable, f0rest again being the star man getting two or three kills frequently. Frag Executors got the last round to put themselves three rounds ahead before the 2nd half.
Fx won their fourth pistol round of the match and didn't let SK plant the bomb. SK ecoed once and forced a buy in the third round. The round looked lost but Dennis came up big with three kills and took the round with the help of face. SK started pilling up rounds on Frag Executors and when the score was tied at 11-11 the Poles called a timeout. It didn't seem to do wonders for them at first as SK were coming trough their defenses. The score was 14-12 for SK and FX looked in bad shape to pull this on trough. But some sloppy play from SK and some magic from kuben made it all possible as the score was suddenly 14-14 SK on a weak buy. SK let Frag Executors back in and they accepted the gift with open arms not letting SK surprise them in the last two rounds and winning the third map. They booked themselves a place in the final and wait the winner of Na'Vi - mTw.
