The March season of GSTL will once again feature an updated map pool. The Blizzard-made "Lost Temple", "Shakuras Plateau" and "Scrap Station" are being removed in favor of three new maps: "Dual Sight", "Xel'Naga Fortress" and "Typhon Peaks".
It seems that GomTV are aiming into creating a map pool of their own, removing Blizzard-made maps whenever possible, much like it was and still is in the BroodWar starleagues and proleagues. We are yet to see if these GSTL maps will then be used for the next GSL season but there are few indications that history won't repeat itself.
Dual Sight

"Dual Sight" is a 2-player map with a rush distance that looks similar to the one on Xel'Naga Caverns. Each player has a standard main-natural composition with a convenient and relatively open third. Each players' side features multiple high grounds and a gold expansion in the adjacent corner of the map. The middle has open spaces with the occasional "pillars" or "pits" so that players can both flank and maneuver into chokes whenever necessary.
Xel'Naga Fortress

The first 3-player map ever to be featured in a Korean SC2 starleague is neat, simple and interesting. The natural is nicely tucked behind a choke without any backdoor paths leading to it. The third is quite far, very open and just outside the range of the single Xel'Naga tower. This might lead to more intense mid-game as this particular third set on an open field with a total of three paths leading to it, might prove difficult to hold for sufficient periods of time.
Typhon Peaks

"Typhon Peaks" is an official Blizzard ladder map that was officially introduced less than a month ago. Although it hasn't been featured in any major tournament thus far, the multiple attack paths, the absence of gold expansions and the low-ground third of "Typhon Peaks" might create a thrilling concoction.
Thus, the complete map pool for GSTL March will include Crevasse, Crossfire, Metalopolis, Tal'Darim Altar, Terminus RE, Xel'Naga Caverns, Dual Sight, Typhon Peaks and Xel'Naga Fortress.
