For the past five seasons Evil Geniuses had managed to come out on top, but with the team disbanding a few months ago the crown belonged to new talent. It was Back2Back who managed to shine throughout the LAN Finals for this season by storming their way into the final undefeated after wins over GSG and CheckSix 2-0.

The final came down to a face-off between Back2Back and Ultimax Gaming US, with B2B needing to win only one BO3 in comparison to UMX who needed to take two for the title. Starting on nuke, B2B took the pistol round pistol which proved to be a good start for last year’s runners up as they continued to defend the bomb sites well taking the first half 12-3 in their favour. Going into the second half, UMX still failed to bring much hope as potential winners as B2B took the second pistol round with UMX only managing to fight back with two more rounds in the second half losing the match 16-5.

De_dust2 was the second map seeing UMX take the pistol round CT side and the first two rounds. In round three, B2B fought back and managed to take their first round with more rounds continuing as a result of their strong aimers to take the first half 12-3. The second half saw UMX play slightly better by picking up five rounds after losing the pistol, but this still wasn’t enough as B2B took the four rounds needed to take the map 16-8 in their favour.
