The day started with
Fnatic vs
Team SoloMid EVO. Most people weren’t expecting the European team to have a successful tournament, but they had something to say about that. After 3 great games they emerged victorious and had some time to rest while their next opponent was being decided.
The next match from the winners’ bracket was like a mini-final, like Barcelona and Real Madrid meeting in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Team SoloMid and
Counter Logic Gaming EU gave the audience one of the most interesting sets and one of the most intense third games until now. The NA team managed to overcome the European one, but there’s still a chance for them to meet again in the Grand Final.
Next up on the main stage were
Dynamic and
Team Dignitas . Even though the youngsters from Dynamic managed to win game one in 25 minutes, thanks to
Darshan 'ZionSpartan' Upadhyaha’s Akali, the more experienced Dignitas managed to take the next two games, just like they did in IPL 4.
At the same time on Stream 2 was the grudge match between
Counter Logic Gaming and
Team Curse . Unfortunately for
Cody 'Elementz' Sigfussonand
Brandon 'Saintvicious' DiMarco they lost 0-2 and didn’t manage to send CLG to the losers' bracket.
The two semi-finals featured TSM vs Fnatic and CLG vs Dignitas. TSM managed to finish the set in only two games, with the second one being extremely dominant for them. Dignitas, on the other hand, had to fight hard for the place in the final and after they managed to win the third game,
Christian 'I Will Dominate' Rivera was so full of emotions, he even broke his headset.
In the losers bracket the most unexpected things were happening around
Orbit Gaming . First they threw TSM.Evo out of the tournament and then they managed to take a game off of CLG.eu, who before that sent their regular opponents
Team Curse EU to pack their luggage. Also in the losers' bracket
SK Gaming couldn't overcome Curse and lost 1-2, but in the next match Curse left the tournament as well after the same result in favour of Dynamic.
Here are all of the results:
Winners' Bracket
Fnatic 2-1 Team SoloMid EVO
Team SoloMid 2-1 Counter Logic Gaming EU
Dynamic 1-2 Team Dignitas
Counter Logic Gaming 2-0 Team Curse
