GreatFrag now claims that the World Cyber Games has finally announced the catalog of competitive titles that are to be hosted in Kunshan, China at the end of the fall and beginning of winter. Of this announcement, the most notable edition is that the hugely popular sponsored title, League of Legends, will not be returning this year. Instead, Dota 2 will make its debut appearance at WCG 2012 as a primary title. In addition, its prequel Warcraft III mod, DotA, will appear as a promotional title for the leisure of the Chinese teams that have yet to make the transition.
Some other traditional franchises will be returning to the event, as well. StarCraft II will be featured as a primary title, along with Blizzard's 2002/2003 real-time strategy title, Warcraft III. The FIFA series will make yet another appearance at WCG with FIFA 2012. SmileGate's South Korean first-person shooter, CrossFire, will be featured, as well.
As previously reported, Counter-Strike 1.6 will not return, but rather, Counter-Strike Online will be featured as a promotional title, presumably to accommodate the Asian audience and player base. Lastly, World of Tanks will appear as yet another title to appeal to the Asian community.
