The first phase of the ESWC French qualifier is over and 8th teams will compete for a spot at the ESWC Finals. The second phase of the qualifier will be held during the Paris Games Week which will start on October 31st in Paris, France.
The ESWC finals are scheduled to kick of on 2nd of November held at the Paris Games Week, Hall 1 Paris Expo, France. The organizers yesterday announced the rules for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Alexander 'crtmN' Nehr on the ESWC website stated the fallowing:
"Today starts a new era for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive which will bring everyone together more closely as we, the Electronic Sports League (ESL), Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC), SLAP Live, Copenhagen Games (CG) and Assembly LAN would like to announce our cooperation in relation to rules and maps used in our professional tournaments. Our goal is to establish one rule-set and mappool for most of the tournaments to avoid conflicts because each tournament has different rules and maps. Therefore we hope that most, if not all, tournaments out there will take us as example and adjust their rules if needed. The times of different rules in different professional tournaments should be over to make it easier not only for us, but especially for the professional players and the community in general. Interested organizations which host bigger tournaments can join our cooperation on request, while we also invited others already but still waiting for their answer. In the past weeks we had several discussions about different topics and successfully agreed on the following settings and maps for now:
Mappool:
All organizations involved will continue to discuss rules and maps in the future to add new or change current rules and maps if needed. Especially the situation about Molotov/Incendiary grenades will be monitored closely, but for now we all decided that we will keep them in our professional tournaments."
