Leading up to this grand final match, it appeared as though Fnatic had an unstoppable momentum, as they had made a steady but vicious recovery from the lower bracket bracket, by virtually annihilating

VP, however, forced their international counterparts into a corner by swiftly gaining a two-zero lead early on, putting them within a game's length of taking home the ten thousand dollars. Playing close to the chest, Fnatic fired back with two one-sided games that relied heavily upon conquering Roshan and gaining the Aegis of the Immortal. As a matter of fact, their second victory constituted a 30-3 game, that only ended after VP were allowed the latter two of their three kills. VP regained their composure, however, and held Fnatic in a precarious position and with due diligence, kept themselves with the upper hand throughout the entirety of the match.
